History

The Kernersville Soccer Association and Piedmont Soccer Alliance are two organizations rooted within their respective communities who have a long tradition of providing Soccer opportunities for the youth of Kernersville and High Point. These two great youth soccer organizations will be joining forces to create a third organization, the Piedmont Triad Football Club. The combined use of two first class facilities (Kernersville’s Beeson Park, and High Point’s Phillips Park) that are just eight miles apart and the talent and resourcefulness of the members of these two fine organizations will produce a stronger club that will be positioned well to compete on a state level and regional level.
  

Each Club, KSA and PSA, will continue to provide the quality programs they have in the past and hopefully with the support of PTFC will increase the quality and quantity of programs offered.  Each club will continue to provide Recreational soccer, and Challenge and Classic at the Under 12 and younger ages.  This will allow both KSA and PSA to maintain the close ties to there respective communities.

PTFC’s mission is to provide Classic and Challenge teams at the U-13 and above age groups, to provide the highest level of player development, and an adequate number of teams with appropriate opportunities at the correct age, and level for all children wishing to play select soccer in the Piedmont Triad.

Our Director of Coaching is Peter Broadley, and the Technical Director is David Upchurch.  They will be working very closely together to provide the highest level of player development.  This will be accomplished through the recruitment, training and retention of quality coaches and trainers who will be required to produce quality training and coaching. Also through the development of an age appropriate curriculum with age specific objectives we will be better prepared to meet the demands of the modern game at the highest level possible.

This organization will begin with tryouts in May of 2005.  The first year we will field teams in the 90, 91 and 92 age divisions.  (Rising U-15’s, U-14’s, and U-13’s).  In subsequent years we will include all rising U-13’s.  Both Classic and Challenge teams will be formed in these age divisions under PTFC to provide the appropriate playing opportunities for all players.

The creation of this organization is an exciting opportunity for the youth soccer players in the Piedmont Triad.  PSA and KSA look forward to working together to make this a strong, vibrant club with the ability to grow into the future and become a Piedmont Triad success that we can all be proud of.
