PTFC Tryouts and Assessments

PTFC Tryouts and Assessments
The primary purpose of PTFC tryouts and player assessments are to place individuals onto teams that are developmentally appropriate for each player. Specific age group coaches, along with our PTFC Directors of Coaching, work together to find the best spot for players on a team within our club.

1. PTFC Philosophy is to Develop the Player
We operate under a model that aims to prepare and develop each and every PTFC player to reach his/her higest level of competition within the sport of soccer. Our club philosophy involves implementing age-appropriate training curriculum at all levels to ensure the best development of our players. The focus is on the development of our players, and not the short-term goal of winning individual games. We strive to provide a structured support plan to our players, families and coaches to implement this player-centric programming at every level of the game.
2. High Level Coaches
PTFC employs qualified and experienced coaches for each of our teams, many of whom are licensed at different levels with the National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) and/or the United States Soccer Federation (U.S.S.F.).  We are fortunate to have nine current NCAA collegiate-level coaches, and four others who have previously worked at the collegiate level.  We boast a large percentage of staff members who are former student-athletes, as well. Our coaches apply the knowledge gained from these eperiences as players and coaches to create an environment that develops our players from the moment they join our club.
3. Clear Path to the Next Level
PTFC and its member clubs have a proud history of developing players for the next level. For the last 25 years, these organizations have successfully prepared players for Division I, II, III, or NAIA levels of collegiate soccer.  Several former players, three of whom are currently PTFC coaches, carried their careers into the professional ranks after playing in college.
